the Tascam 38 is a great machine with similar specs to my TEAC. The 38 has more specialized recording & playback functions that mine doesn't have. As Eddy said, the old TEACs & Tascams are prone to overheat but if you put a fan behind the rear vent you shouldn't have any problems. The only one I've seen for saile was David Tribble (I think I have his E-mail still) and he wanted $800 I think.
