I've been doing a lot of recording these days, it's about all I think about (I record a lot of guitar based music). Well, I went with my girlfriend to watch her girlfriend play with their little town orchestra (70 piece). While sitting there listening I got really inspired by how good they were and how every instrument had it's place (a nice change to guitars battling drums battling bass, etc...), and said "I could put up a couple of C1000s and record this.
To make a long story short, that statement got out and now they want to give me a bunch of money to record the orchestra. Well, I'm a beginner and turned down the money, but I am gonna try and record their rehearsel and see how that goes. Any tips, suggestions? I have decent gear (akai dps12, tce finalizer express), I'm more concerned with mics. Any info is greatly appreciated.
