I just bought a Sharp portable minidisc recorder for field recording. The instructions say I need to use a "plug-in-power" type microphone. What is that? I guess the recorder has some sort of phantom power or something. I mean, I've never seen a mic with an 1/8in jack requiring phantom power. The instructions say that the MD will supply the power for the mics operation. I don't know, it sounds strange. Can anyone help me out? PS. I'm still waiting for Sharp to get back to me . . .
