You need a unit that will stripe SMPTE timecode to your deck. I use an older Music Quest MQX-32M midi interface card (made by Opcode) that sends and receives SMPTE. I stripe one track on my ADAT and then I can sync Midi sequencers and audio programs to the ADATs. It does exactly what you are looking for by providing me with as many additional audio/midi tracks as my comp can handle. The MQX-32M is an ISA card, but was and still is, recognized as one of the most rock solid syncing cards available. Other than a few problems finding the drivers for Win 98, it has worked flawlessly for me from day one. I've seen them occasionally selling used at online classifieds for around $60. I paid $325 new for it about 4 years ago.
You could also use any of the cheaper Motu or Midiman boxes to do the same thing.
- There's one at Ebay for $45 !! Tim Z 18:15:02 3/13/00 (0)
