I agree with JR#97. I've given up on recording anything direct. I even record bass & keys with mics now just for a more natural tone. If it's just not possible to mic your amp, you can get a speaker emulator from musician's friend that work OK. They still don't sound quite as good as real amps but they take the edge off.
