The AMD Athalon is a 1GHz chip. It's basically a reversed engineered PIII with a built in overdrive. I suggest avoiding them as they require 200MHz motherboards and MAJOR cooling power. You're better off with a midline PIII. It's cheaper and PIIIs have been around for a while so they're trusted.
