hi im asking around about how people are getting good clean guitar tones into a daw. feel free to respond. the problem i have with recording guitar direct is the clean tones. iv never been able to get any thing sounding real and good from;couple of korg efx (i dont remember what the model #s are), the efx on a roland vs 840ex, direct, w/ roland ua100, and combonations with and without an art tube compressor. i'v always felt that direct distortion sounds were fine with any of the mentioned combonations. for a clean sound nothing is giving me that glassy shimmery niceness that running thru a tube amp live has given me. the next thing im going to try is to put a super nice tube in the art tube comperssor and see what happens. what are you all doing for clean tones specificaly ?
