Anyone have any tips on the the techniques or equipment I need to use to get quality recording from the telephone for later cassette duplication.

Right now, I am taking the telephone signal direct from the wall through a Radio Shack Telephone Recording control (basically a passthru that converts from RJ-11 to 1/8 phone jack) into a Yamaha MT400 multitrack (cassette) recorder. The problem I am having is that I can't get enough signal to create a usable mixdown later without getting all kinds of noise...mostly background hum.

I tried pre-amping (an Audio Buddy) at the Radio Shack device and got a stronger signal...but also got far louder noise. So...I'm kind of at an impasse. The person I'm doing this for wants to sell the recorded product to her students and future clients. However, right now...I would have trouble giving them away. Help!!
