Hi, I am new to this board, though I must say that from the posts, it looks like I am going to be coming back quite often. Anyways, I am new to recording as a whole, and was wondering how I could avoid mic clipping while recording my tube amp (at a very high volume). Do my mics clip because of their relative low quality or type...(which is what I am guessing)...I own an Audio Technica PR99 and a BMB NK-533B...I may get a SM-57...if I could be certain that it would not clip. I am recording onto my computer, and I put the recording levels low enough so that it doesn't clip (the input signal at least)....
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am really unsure as far as what I should do...BTW, the volume levels are around 110 + decibels
Thanks
