| Is there a rating system or something or does it go by how many posts you reply to? I'm feeling like a grade schooler who needs to get that gold star in class. |

It's got to do with how many posts you make. You still won't get paid

the other folks are right, 50 will get you another. It works like this
0-50 posts - Newbie - 1 star
51-100 posts - Engineer - 2 stars
101-250 posts - Producer - 3 stars
251-500 posts - Board Master - 4 stars
501+ posts - Guru - 5 stars.
I'm still thinking about what to do for 1000 posts.  |

Shouldn't stars be offered as rewards to users who come up with useful advice (Star1), great tips (Star2), and perhaps good music (Star3)?
At least 1 full year of reading/learning to get Star 1. Lots of experiments come with loss of equipment and with Star 2. Patience, dedication, and creativity leads to Star 3, the hardest to get
Stars 4 and beyond will be decor:)

And who would judge whether a post is useful or great or whatever? And that judge would answer to whom? Patience, dedication and creativity according to whose standards?
An administrative nightmare, IMO. The real value isn't how many stars or whatever, but did you learn or teach something, are you at least having fun? |

You want stars just burn a post... there are lost of posts that don't say anything... just people collecting stars.
I think if you post something that isn't nice or relevant to the TOPIC you should have a reduction in stars! Now there is a plan.

My standards are way too high, so high in fact I couldn't get any stars!
btw - The Thread is titled "How Do I Get More Stars Under My Name." I think these last two posts are well within the topic. We are providing proof and example of how to just get stars...
