Just got back from a fantastic evening at a coffeehouse with two excellent performers - one a caberet artist and the other a songwriter.
Sometimes when I hear great original songs I get this strange mixture of feelings. On one hand, I'm thrilled to hear such great music and really caught up in the pleasure of the moment. On the other hand, I'm so frustrated with how my songs don't measure up to what I'm hearing.
I do my best to use the frustration as encouragement to work harder and break through to a new level, but it's still an odd mixture of feelings.
I just wondered if others have you have had that same experience.
